Rail passengers have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel on Saturday due to a strike by workers in the long-running dispute over pay, jobs and conditions.
A rail union has confirmed that train drivers at 12 companies will stage fresh strikes next month, continuing the industrial unrest that has hit several sectors this summer.
Disruption to train services which caused thousands of mourners to miss the Queen’s funeral will continue until noon on Tuesday, passengers have been warned.
Trains will run through the night and major road closures have been paused to ease journeys for mourners visiting London to pay their respects to the Queen.
