Eurostar starts preparations for 2018 Amsterdam services

Test and training runs with ‘e320’ high-speed trains have started in the Netherlands, ahead of Eurostar’s London to Amsterdam services starting in Spring 2018.

Nos. 4013/14 visited Amsterdam Centraal on September 15, prior to starting tests on the HSL Zuid high-speed line between Rotterdam and Breda the following day.

The train was also tested on the conventional Rotterdam to Amsterdam route, over which Eurostar services will need to be diverted when the high-speed line is closed.

Trial services to both Rotterdam and Amsterdam are expected to start this coming December, with two return London to Brussels train pairs running each day, extended to serve the Dutch cities in March/April 2018.
