Birmingham’s Perry Barr station looks set to be transformed as part of a wider regeneration of the area it serves.
The development of a new rail and bus interchange will see a modern new station building constructed, featuring new lighting, CCTV, accessible toilets, covered waiting areas, live travel information screens, lifts to platforms and better access for all passengers.
The new building will replace the current 1960s-built station entrance.
There will also be improved pedestrian links to a redesigned bus interchange to be served by the proposed new Sprint rapid bus transit service between Birmingham and Walsall.
Development of the interchange is due to take place as part of a £500million regeneration of Perry Barr, which includes the Athletes Village for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
