Jurassic provided steam at the original Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway at Humberston from 1961 until that line closed in 1985 and last steamed during a visit to Leighton Buzzard Railway in 1987.
Its overhaul has been assisted by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant.
Reassembly of Jurassic is projected for completion in time to haul passenger services in August/September (exact date currently unconfirmed) which will bring steam operation to the line at Skegness Water Leisure Park for the first time.

The loop at the southern end of the railway is being slightly extended in preparation for Jurassic’s return to service. The revised arrangement will enable a locomotive to run round a two-coach train and allow passengers to disembark onto a platform.
