Feltham station set for £23m redevelopment

NETWORK Rail is investing £23million to rebuild parts of Feltham station in south-west London.

Platforms are to be lengthened to accommodate new, longer trains being introduced from 2019, and step-free access will be provided for travellers, along with a new bridge for cyclists and pedestrians to cross the railway safely.

The latter will replace Feltham West level crossing, which is the second highest-risk crossing on the South Western Railway network.

The improvements are being delivered in partnership with Hounslow Council and Transport for London (TfL) to reduce dwell times at suburban stations, offer passengers easier journeys, and to create a safer, more accessible station for the community.

The first phase of work will begin in September, with the installation of a second entrance on platform 1, providing step-free access.
