FOXFIELD Railway-based Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns 0-4-0ST No. 15 Eustace Forth (7063/1942) has returned to its former home at Locomotion in Shildon to take up a summer residency.

The ex-Dunston-on-Tyne power station locomotive was once part of the National Collection, and saw operational use at both the National Railway Museum in York, and latterly at Shildon, until its boiler certificate expired in 2009.

The overhaul was completed last year and ‘Eustace’ made a triumphant return to steam at the Foxfield gala in July.

No. 15 arrived at Locomotion on April 24 in time to take part in the museum’s Festival of Steam on May 5-7. During the weekend it worked alongside Furness Railway 0-4-0 No. 20, which was making its final appearance in steam before overhaul.

‘Eustace’ is also expected to appear at the Tanfield Railway’s Legends of Industry gala on June 16-17 (see above).
