THE return to service of the Talyllyn Railway’s (TR) Hughes 0-4-2ST No. 3 Sir Haydn will be marked by a June 16 Anything Goes event.
Sir Haydn returned to the TR on April 19 following overhaul at the Vale of Rheidol Railway’s Aberystwyth works.
The day will feature double-heading, with Fletcher, Jennings pair 0-4-2ST No. 1 Talyllyn and 0-4-0WT No. 2 Dolgoch working together, ex-Corris Railway duo No. 3 Sir Haydn paired with Kerr, Stuart 0-4-2ST No. 4 Edward Thomas, and Andrew Barclay 0-4-0WT No. 6 Douglas partnered by Talyllyn 0-4-2T No. 7 Tom Rolt.
Ex-RNAD Trecwn 99hp Baguley Drewry diesels No. 11 Trecwn and No. 12 St. Cadfan will also double-head a passenger service, while diesels Nos. 5 Midlander and 9 Alf will work engineering trains.
Trecwn is now in a recently applied ‘modified Talyllyn standard’ green livery and fitted with air brakes, and will be officially named on the morning of the event by Network Rail chairman Sir Peter Hendy.
