The English Electric machine, built in Darlington in 1960, worked two return journeys from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth, before operating a driver experience service the following day.
The next scheduled day for operating passenger services is September 18, although it might be called into action before then to deputise for Class 37 No. 37688, which has been out of action pending the reinstatement of the vacuum brake system.
