THE Branch Line Society will be traversing unusual lines in the north- west of England on
June 14, using three DRS Class 37s to raise money for The Railway Children charity.
The DRS-operated train is being used to transport participants in the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ that weekend, so will have just five First Class open coaches available for passenger use, and will be top-and-tailed by the three ‘37s’ (2+1), subject to availability.
Only 210 places are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

The train starts at Stafford at 08.30 and will run via Basford Hall Down fast independent-sorting sidings North Jct-South Yard bypass-Crewe p12 09.00, (PU)-Crewe PAD No. 2 Road (RM)-Down Manchester Independent-Stockport p4-Down fast-Manchester Piccadilly-Ordsall Chord-Manchester Victoria (PU)-Ashton Moss North Jct-Denton Jct-Reddish South (break)-Heaton Norris Up goods loop-Stockport-Hazel Grove-Buxton-Buxton XYZ sidings-Peak Forest-New Mills South Jct-Down Cheadle Loop-Northenden Jct-Altrincham-Northwich-Sandbach-Up Manchester loop to terminate at Crewe platform 1 around 17.00. Tickets cost £59 for BLS members.
