Three Manchester railway bridges have been restored to their Victorian splendour after months of painstaking repair work.
The Grade II-listed, 175-year-old bridges at Great Ducie Street were unveiled on October 25 after a £3.2million project to repair steelwork, remove debris and give the bridges a superb new paint finish, based on their original colours.

The work was part funded by the Railway Heritage Trust and included the replacement of corroded decorative steelwork with reproduction items forged by specialist blacksmiths.
Network Rail is currently completing a similar restoration of another Victorian bridge next to the city’s Deansgate station.
