Class 66 locomotive carrying The Railway Magazine name given makeover

The Class 66 locomotive which carries the name of The Railway Magazine has been given a brand new look.

No. 66503 in Freightliner’s fleet, the 20-year old loco, which works intermodal trains from ports to inland terminals, was give a sparkling coat of Freightliner’s new orange and black livery by Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh Works.

The loco’s livery is based on the colour scheme used by America’s Genesee & Wyoming railroad company, Freightliner’s parent company.

Freightliner kindly invited The Railway Magazine to photograph the ex-works locomotive at Southampton depot on November 27 about haul its first train in the new colour scheme.
