No. 121034 (55034) passes the site of Launton station, east of Bicester (closed January 1, 1968) on what will become the East-West Railway, during the last leg of the tour from Oxford to Aylesbury via Claydon (LNE) Junction. CHRIS MILNER

To mark the event, the Branch Line Society ran the ‘Bubble & Squeak Tracker’ on April 9, visiting various rare crossovers, loops and sidings on the Chiltern system, as well as the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton Road.

The tour also visited Chiltern’s depots at Banbury and Aylesbury, and offered a rare opportunity to travel on No. 121034 away from its usual peak-hour duties on the Princes Risborough-Aylesbury branch.
